If you’ve tooled around this site a little, you’ll most likely already know that we’re totally hard for anything Back To The Future. Today the official trailer for Back To The Future: The Game hit the webs and it is heavy. We’ve been pretty stoked on this and it’s great to see something officially out there. Check it out after the jump.

Telltale Games will release a series (that’s right, a series) of new episodic video games based off the BTTF franchise. It’s great to see that the devs are actually fans themselves of the BTTF movies. Because ultimately, the details in-game will stand out to superfans like us.

Via /Film’s Peter Sciretta, Series Co-creator/co-writer/co-producer Bob Gale is overseeing the five-episode series with Christopher Lloyd reprising his role as Doc Brown in the games, providing his likeness and recording a bunch of new dialogue. Michael J Fox was unavailable so newcomer A.J. LoCascio is voicing Marty McFly. The first game (which will be released later this month on PC and Mac, and later on for PS3 and iPad) will follow the further adventures of Marty McFly, and take place six months after the end of Back to the Future Part III.

Telltale Games have released the first trailer for the game, which gives us a hint of what to expect in the first episode.

So it appears the first episode will bring us back in time to the year 1931… The trailer also reveals the titles of the upcoming episodes:

  • December: “It’s About Time” (Episode 1)
  • February: “Get Tannen!” (Episode 2)
  • March: “Citizen Brown” (Episode 3)
  • April: “Double Visions” (Episode 4)
  • TBD (May?): “OUTATIME” (Episode 5 – finale)

The first episode, It’s About Time, will be released later this month. If you want to download it for free, use the code “121GIGAWATTS” (which comes from the Blu-ray trilogy box set) and register in advance on the Telltale website.

We also have some behind the scenes clips that were made available in October.
