Risk of Birth Abnormalities in the Offspring of Men With a History of Cancer
If you’ve got a history of cancer and a baby on the way, there’s a good chance that your baby will experience a “birth abnormality.” This abnormality, according to a recent study by Olof Ståhl, MD and company* can be as benign as a lower birth weight, or be a more “major abnormalities,” the specifics of which were buried past the point of the study where the reader falls asleep.
The study data, taken from what we can only describe as a crapload of Danes and Swedes. Don’t believe us? The full text of the study can be found here.
(*the “and company” refers to: Heather A. Boyd, Aleksander Giwercman, Morten Lindholm, Allan Jensen, Susanne Krüger Kjær, Harald Anderson, Eva Cavallin-Ståhl and Lars Rylander, which is the greatest list of names ever.)
