Quoth CollegeHumor: “Before today, Cory had never met his father. Maybe it was better that way.”

This 5-part web series, directed by Derek Westerman, stars Michael Cera, who you might know from every movie in the last 3 years, and Will Hines, who is most popular from the Upright Citizens Brigade shows. The series is improv (says SlashFilm), but sounds a little scripted. I can’t find any info otherwise.

Above all, each episode is only a couple of minutes long, so it’s worth checking out. This, of course, isn’t the most accurate display of what it’s like to meet your father after 17 years of going without – but the lack of realism is where the humor lies. For example, episode 2 is all about Hines’ character’s vampire movie trilogy – and the interplay between Cera and Hines is gold.

I’m wondering if there’s a reason the series is called “Bad Dads” and not just “Bad Dad.” Since we’ve only met one father so far, and we’ve seen three of five episodes, I don’t know if we’ll get a chance to see others. Maybe Westerman’s got more father-son sets to explore after this series is done.

New episodes come out on Wednesdays, so we’ve caught you up just in time for tomorrow’s.
