The Erie-Huron Counties Community Action Commission wants to help Ohio fathers learn their responsibilities and rights. A new program – the Fatherhood Initiative – aims to combat absentee fatherhood and help local fathers that would be counted toward the Community Service Block Grant.

The Fatherhood Initiative program attacks the problem from four angles: employment and training, enhanced child support enforcement, peer support, and mediation. Program leaders hope that other counties in Ohio will start programs as well so that a state-wide Fatherhood Initiative can exist.
