We’d be remiss to not mention something about New York’s 9/11 Memorial. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of the September 11th New York WTC terrorist attacks in 2001, the memorial is in the form of pools that have the names of all of the victims etched into it.
The September 11th attacks took a lot of fathers and children from their families. In the above picture, Robert Peraza finds his son’s name at the memorial. Though it’s cliché to say, there’s still something terribly sad about a father mourning the loss of a son like this. Many sons, daughters and fathers were lost that day, and regardless of politics, the United States lost many fathers that day, and that’s a difficult void to fill for those families still trying to get back to normalcy.
