Just in case you thought “Real Steel” was just a big-screen version of Rock’em Sock’em Robots, Hugh Jackman’s letting you know that it’s not – it’s a movie about a father and son. “It’s a redemption tale about all three beings — the father, the son and the robot,” says Jackman.

“Real Steel” is set in the future, where robot fighting has become a huge sport. Hugh Jackman plays Charlie Kenton, an ex-boxer that finds a beat-up underdog robot to take under his meatbag wing. Meanwhile, Kenton’s 11 year old son shows up, and Kenton’s now got to figure out how to “let his defenses down” (see because it’s a movie about fighting) with his son.
