According to the probably-outdated 2009 census stats, there are 1.7 million single fathers out there.

ABC News recently talked about what some single dads are going through with their families. For single parents, raising kids and creating a sense of togetherness is challenging when one parent isn’t around, or is sharing custody from another household.

Another challenge for single dads is being able to talk to daughters – ABC News talked to Reynard Zweifel, who is raising two girls. In addition to the girls learning lessons from their mother during her time with the daughters, Zweifel has his own mother and sister offer advice to them.
