Kid Sleeps Through Car Theft, Dad Charged With Endangerment
The short story: New York dad Phillip Owens pulls up to a store, hops out of his car to grab something to drink inside the store, and leaves the car running. The car is stolen, and then abandoned, presumably when the thief noticed the sleeping 6 year old boy in the back seat. Cops use Owens’ cellphone to track the car.
The kid slept through the whole thing. Owens, who wishes he was dreaming, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
What do you think? Was dad endangering the child while he ran into a store?
