Or at least that’s what Liberty Mutual, the eighth largest auto and home insurer in the country, wants you to do. For Father’s Day, they recommend checking up on dad and make sure he’s still got what it takes to stay safe on the road (and keep Liberty Mutual in the black by not shelling out for fender-benders).

Liberty Mutual wants you to take this opportunity to “start the conversation” with your dad, maybe take a long drive, and find out just how he’s doing. It’s not a bad idea, in principle. Elderly people can lose some of their mad skills behind the wheel, and it is good to be in touch with your parent’s health. But it’s in the implementation that Liberty Mutual loses me.
