So you’re going to be a father. Congrats! You’re about to enter the most awesome and most terrifying stage of your life! Starting today, your life is going to get complicated; there’s so much to think about, so many things to buy, and so many things you’re going to need to baby-proof.
But enough of that baby talk. You need some gear – that is, non-baby gear – to make fatherhood easier. And while we can tell you about the coolest crib sheets, best baby monitors, or the bottles that won’t give your kid gas, we’d rather have a man-to-man about all the things you haven’t yet considered
Want to know about all the gear us 8BitDads use to transform themselves into superheroes? Then read on.
Ask a dad what he wants for Father’s Day, and he’ll tell you “oh, anything” or “nothing, I’m happy just spending time with you.” Lies. What that guy wants (and needs) is a Turtle Beach headset for his gaming pleasure. Specifically, the Turtle Beach Ear Force X32 (XBox 360) are a great gift for a gamer-dad. I mean, sure, you could just buy him a gift card to Best Buy (or Future Shop for our Canadian readers), but the dude’s just going to end up buying these for himself.
And if you’re a dad, stop playing coy and just tell your family that you want to ear-hump these headphones so bad that it’s effecting your kill-death ratio.
Now, before we get into it – Turtle Beach does indeed have many headsets – and in fact, many headsets above the X32 in quality. But if you’re looking for a good balance between price and power, the X32 is what you’re looking for.
…or, that was my takeaway from the infomercial. And it’s not just for fathers! If you’re a man that hates the sound of your wife’s voice, the My Zone Headphones are for you!
The poor dude above is a remorseful father. He often sits in his lounge chair and thinks back to his single days, when he’d hang out with his buddies all weekend, throw back a couple cases of beer and talk about how rad that one time in high school was when they all got some drunk senior chick from another school to show her boobs under the bleachers at homecoming. This dude just needs some sort of time machine to get him back to a more peaceful time when he didn’t have kids getting in the way, leaving their toys in the hallway and totally ruining his Saturday morning buzz.
The answer, inevitably, is My Zone Headphones, infomercial after the jump.
Maybe you’re a new father, and now that you’ve got a 24-7 responsibility, you’ve kind of made peace with the idea that you just can’t play video games anymore. Maybe you’re a not-recently new father whose family needs to be up early, so your nights usually die at 8:30pm. Either way, you already miss your video games. Why was it that when your wife had her baby, you had to lose yours? Ooh, burn. Just kidding. But the fact is that it has become increasingly harder for you to play your favorite game now that there’s a little one sleeping on the other side of the wall. Evidently, the sounds of war and violence don’t mix well with a sleeping family.
That’s where Turtle Beach’s Ear Force X11 becomes your knight in shining plastic.
